Building America and Systems Engineering
Chuck has developed a PowerPoint presentation describing the Building America Program and the Systems Engineering Approach to Homebuilding employed by Chuck Miller Construction Inc. to build homes that are 30% to 50% more energy-efficient than most homes being built today.

Advanced Framing
Chuck has also developed a PowerPoint presentation describing the Advanced Framing component of the Systems Engineering Approach to Homebuilding.

Advanced framing increases the thermal resistance of the building envelope without compromising structural integrity by eliminating unnecessary framing members. This can result in up to 25 percent reduction in the amount of wood used. Optimizing the use of wood can significantly lower the framing cost.

Chuck is a National Center for Construction Education and Research Certified Carpentry Instructor and teaches carpentry apprenticeship classes for the Construction Education Foundation of Idaho.
