You need the very best to plan and execute your new home or remodeling / renovation project.  But the decision to hire a builder or remodeler can be intimidating.  Professional designations can help you identify builders and remodelers who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence by taking continuing education courses to improve their management skills and keep informed on trends and techniques in building.  Chuck Miller has demonstrated his commitment to excellence.

Graduate Master Builder (GMB)

GMB LogoChuck Miller is one of the select group of professional home builders nationwide to attain the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation, identifying him as one of the building industry’s top professionals.

The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the National Association of Home Builders Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only.  Before beginning the GMB designation process, an individual must have earned the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designation with five years of building experience, or ten years of building experience and have completed three CGB/CGR courses. GMB courses are more advanced with in-depth instruction geared for experienced building professionals.

GMB graduates complete an intensive series of courses on how to capitalize on business opportunities, executive-level financial management, managing risk in an evolving market and other building industry topics.

After earning the GMB, program graduates are required to sign a code of ethics and maintain their designations by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years.

Certified Graduate Builder (CGB)

CGB LogoChuck Miller has been named to a select group of home builders who have earned the National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) designation, identifying him as one of the industry’s top professionals.

To earn the CGB designation, builders must successfully complete a curriculum that incorporates training by leading building industry practitioners and experts on a range of topics, including business management, emerging technologies and market trends. In addition, the builder must have at least two years’ experience in the industry.

After earning the CGB, program graduates are required to sign a code of ethics and maintain their designations by completing 12 hours of continuing education every three years.

Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR)

CGR LogoChuck Miller has been named to a select group of home builders who have earned the National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) designation, identifying him as one of the industry’s top professionals.

To become a CGR, a remodeler must have at least five years of experience in the industry, take a qualifying exam and successfully complete a pre-set curriculum of courses specific to the remodeling industry, including project and business management.

In addition, CGRs are required to carry workers’ compensation and liability insurance and maintain a valid business license, where required by their state or local jurisdiction. Upon earning the designation, they must sign a Code of Ethics specific to their designation. CGRs also are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education related to building and remodeling every three years.

Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS)

CAPS LogoChuck Miller is one of the select group of professionals nationwide to earn the Certified Aging‐in‐Place Specialist (CAPS) designation, identifying him as a Builder / Remodeler with the skills and knowledge necessary to remodel or modify a home to meet the unique needs of the older population, disabled owners or their visitors.

The National Association of Home Builders, in partnership with the AARP and Home Innovation Research Labs, created the CAPS program, which includes training and education on the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest‐growing segment of the residential remodeling industry — home modifications for aging‐in‐place.

The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place.

CAPS graduates include remodelers, builders, designers, architects, occupational therapists and others who help homeowners remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably as they age.

In three days of coursework, the CAPS curriculum incorporates market demographics, communication techniques, marketing, common barriers and solutions, building codes and standards, product ideas and resources and business management.

CAPS program graduates are required to are required to sign a code of ethics and maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and/or participating in community service projects.

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

CGP LogoChuck Miller is one of the select group of professionals nationwide to earn the Certified Green Professional™ (CGP) educational designation, identifying him as a Builder / Remodeler with the skills and the best strategies for incorporating green building principles into new home and remodeling projects.

The National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry.

The CGP curriculum includes three days of training from leading building industry practitioners and academics on a range of topics, including strategies for integrating green building principles into homes using cost‐effective methods of construction.

Coursework is based on the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard, the only ANSI‐approved rating system for green homes, developments and remodeling projects. The standard includes sections on energy, water and resource efficiency; indoor environmental quality; lot and site development; and home owner education.

Master In Residential Marketing (MIRM)

MIRM LogoChuck Miller has been inducted as a Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) of the National Association of Home Builders. Chuck earned his MIRM designation through a combination of professional education and experience in the real estate field.

The Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) designation is the fourth and most prestigious designation given by the Institute. The MIRM is the top-level achievement for professionals in new home marketing.

The Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) is a professional organization under the auspices of the National Association of Home Builders. Its purpose is to recognize and promote professionalism, education and ethics in new home sales and marketing.

Certified New Home Marketing Professional (CMP)

CMP LogoChuck Miller earned the CMP designation after completing the educational requirements of the Certified New Home Marketing Professional (CMP) educational designation and demonstrating excellence in sales and marketing in the home building industry.

Certified New Home Marketing Professional (CMP) is the mid-level designation for IRM students who have completed the marketing intensive IRM courses I through IV.

 

Master Certified New Home Sales Professional (Master CSP)

MCSP LogoChuck Miller earned the Master Certified New Home Sales Professional (Master CSP) from the National Association of Home Builders’ Institute of Residential Marketing.

The Master CSP designation further acknowledges new home sales professionals who hold the CSP designation by highlighting their continued educational and career achievements in the home building industry.

Master CSPs must successfully complete a series of courses on home construction, marketing and business management and have at least three years of experience in the new homes sales and marketing industry.

Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP)

CSP LogoChuck Miller earned the Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) designation from the National Association of Home Builders’ Institute of Residential Marketing after completing the educational requirements and demonstrating excellence in new home sales.

The Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) designation is the first designation available through the National Association of Home Builders Institute of Residential Marketing. CSP was designed for specialists in new home sales to enhance their professional image, increase their marketability in the home building industry and sell more homes!
